Bitty Schram aka Sharona Fleming, will be in a Hallmark Channel movie coming out this summer called, "Derby" aka “You’ve Got A Friend”. According to imdb.com, "Debry" aka “You’ve Got A Friend”, will premiere on June 9th.
Update: I just saw "You Got A Friend" and it was a great family movie. Bitty (Jackie Nelson) gave an excellent performance along with the whole cast and crew.

In the June 4-10 edition of TV Guide, they report that "two fan faves are back to bug Monk: Sarah Silverman's "...supergroupie Marcie Maven..." and Sharon Lawrence's "real-estate queen Linda Fusco...who is still lovey-dovey with Captain Stottlemeyer", except that Monk thinks she's a killer. Also, Snoop Dogg will play a rap star who is "accused of whacking another hip-hopper", and that someone Monk sent to prison is cleared by DNA evidence. And that the "body-phobic private eye must investigate a murder at a nudist beach."

***Mr. Monk Meets Psych***
****************************************
Lately, there's been discussion about a possible crossover episode between Monk and Psych.
Tony Shalhoub on the left and James Roday on the right
TV Guide Article
TV Guide: Like USA's Monk, comedy is as much a part of Psych as the mystery. Is there a crossover episode in the works? Any notable guest stars coming up?
Roday: It's been talked about a couple of times. A crossover with Monk, and a crossover with the WWE Raw guys. I think both of those are in various stages of development. I would welcome a crossover episode, because the few opportunities I've had to work with Mr. [Tony]Shalhoub have been awesome. But we've got a couple of good guest stars coming. We brought in Mercedes Reuhl for our Season 1 finale [airing Mar. 2], which John Landis directed.

Has Stanley Kamel Finally Made His Monk on Show Biz?
From Friday, January 19, 2007
By: Raven Snook
After three decades as a steadily employed but no-name actor, Stanley Kamel has found his dream role on USA's Monk as the title character's dedicated shrink, Dr. Charles Kroger. Mind you, Kamel has played a therapist before — prior to Monk he was best known for his villainous turn as an ethically challenged psychiatrist on ABC's Murder One — but as Kroger, he gets to show that despite his wild blue eyes and intense persona, he can still play a good guy, and a pretty funny one at that. Kamel talked (at length) to TVGuide.com about his long career and the second half of Monk's fifth season, which kicks off tonight at 9 pm/ET.
***Congratulations To Traylor Howard!***
*****************************************
Congratulations to Traylor Howard on the birth of her son, Sabu Howard. He was born on Thursday, November 24th, 2006.
Monk's Traylor Howard didn't let a little thing like having a baby get in the way of her job on the USA Network comedy. She continued to play Adrian Monk's cheerful personal assistant Natalie Teeger until a week before she gave birth to son Sabu on November 24th." [Sabu} is beautiful," says Howard, who refuses to name the father. "And he has such a sweet demeanor."
When Howard confessed her real-life pregnancy to Monk producers last spring, they decided to conceal her growing belly. It wasn't a problem for the first nine episodes, because she was just beginning to show. But by the she returned in August to shoot the last seven episodes, 'she was huge" says star Tony Shalhoub. " They did everything to try and hide that I was pregnant," says Howard, who wore lots of black and was placed behind a steering wheel, a desk, a newspaper and even a teapot.
Monk will be a family-friendly place when Howard returns to work. Says Shalhoub, "We'll have a nursery for the baby so she can have him there." - N.F. Mendoza

New information on Mr. Monk and The Two Assistants.
I've just emailed the finished manuscript for the fourth Monk novel, MR. MONK AND THE TWO ASSISTANTS, to my editor in New York. The book will be published in hardcover in July 2007 (yep, you read right, we're moving to hardcovers). Here's the book jacket summary:
"Only a special kind of person can keep up with Monk’s brilliant, if idiosyncratic, methods. One such person is his former assistant, Sharona. And now that her ne’er-do-well husband has been arrested for murder, she’s back in San Francisco, ready to reclaim her place in Monk’s extremely well-ordered life.
His current assistant, Natalie, is not at all pleased with this turn of events. As little as her job pays, she’s grown fond of Monk and would rather not get fired.
While Monk tries to maintain a delicate balance between the two women, he discovers a few unsettling snags in the case against Sharona’s husband. With bestselling crime novelist Ian Ludlow nosing around, and other cases taking his attention, Monk may be up against a killer who not only understands him, but is one step ahead…"
The third Monk novel, MR. MONK AND THE BLUE FLU, will be out in paperback in January.
I hope you continue to enjoy the books. I'm certainly having a great time writing them!
Lee

CHEERS to Monk for letting Stanley Kamel get a word in edgewise for a change. For 5 seasons, the Melrose Place alum has played straight man to Tony Shalhoub's obsessive-compulsive detective as his long-suffering shrink, Dr.Kroger. But in a recent episode, Kroger temporarily quit after blaming himself for the murder of his office's cleaning lady, and Monk followed the character home, where we met his wife and rebellious teenage son.

***Added August 27th, 2006***
Congratulations to Tony Shalhoub on winning his third Emmy. "Best Actor In A Comedy Series".
There's been a terrible mistake. I never win anything. I just want to say it's gratifying to be chosen from such a distinguished group of losers... actors. You know comedy, comedic performing actor, you know... whatever.
So I want to thank a great cast and crew and my co-exec producers Randy Zisk, David Hoberman and Andy Breckman, all the beautiful people, my beautiful daughter, Josie, who's with me tonight and the most beautiful woman in the room, even though she's not in the room, my wife Brooke Adams. All you people, thank you.

CHEERS to Monk for giving Ted Levine more to do. The character actor, so memorably creepy as serial killer Buffalo Bill in "The Silence of the Lambs," was underutilized as San Francisco police captain Leland Stottlemeyer in the USA Network crime dramedy's first few seasons. But since Stottlemeyer got divorced and started wooing a real-estate agent (Sharon Lawrence), Levine's broken out of the hot-tempered-cop stereotype. Plus, the guy's got one of TV's most awesome mustaches.

"We don't want to mess with the formula that got us here," says exec producer Andy Breckman. "'Mr. Monk Gets a Lap Dance' would probably be a big mistake." So expect more of the same: Stanley Tucci drops by as an actor portraying Monk in a movie, while Sharon Lawrence ( Desperate Housewives ) appears as the girlfriend of Captain Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine). Also on tap for the obsessive-compulsive detective: a rock & roll concert and a reunion with his long-lost father. In fact, the only request for change comes from star Tony Shalhoub. "How about we try mysteries where I sit in a chair, sip a cold drink, and talk to a beautiful woman?"

"More mysteries, more laughs and truckloads of surprises," is what producer Andy Breckman promises for season five. "Monk deals with a city-wide garbage strike, attends his 25th college reunion, goes temporarily blind and takes a cross-country Christmas trip with his long-lost father."
